Mississippi State left-handed pitcher Delainey Everett is heading to Stillwater for her final season of eligibility. The standout southpaw, who helped lead the Bulldogs on a memorable Women’s College World Series run, has signed with Oklahoma State softball and will compete for the Cowgirls in 2027.
Everett announced her commitment in June after entering the transfer portal following Mississippi State’s deep postseason run. The move addresses a clear need for Oklahoma State while giving the California native a high-profile stage for her senior season.
Delainey Everett Career Stats and Impact at Mississippi State
Over three seasons in Starkville, Everett compiled a strong résumé:
- Career record: 17-4
- ERA: 2.55
- Innings pitched: 126.1
- Strikeouts: 95
- Appearances: 51
As a junior in 2026, she posted a 3-2 record and an impressive 1.15 ERA across 12 appearances and 24.1 innings. Her defining moment came in the Norman Super Regional against No. 2 Oklahoma. In her first start of the season, Everett threw a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits and ending a 399-game streak in which the Sooners had not been held scoreless at home (dating back to 2019). That performance helped send Mississippi State to the Women’s College World Series.
In her sophomore year (2025), Everett made 25 appearances, threw a career-high 74.1 innings, went 10-2, and recorded a 2.92 ERA with 49 strikeouts. As a freshman, she went 4-0 with a 2.78 ERA in limited action.
Why Delainey Everett’s Transfer Boosts Oklahoma State Softball
Oklahoma State head coach Kenny Gajewski and his staff identified pitching depth as a priority after the departure of previous arms. Everett arrives as the most experienced pitcher on the roster and immediately becomes a candidate for a major role in the circle.
She joins a group of recent portal additions that includes catcher Kennedy Proctor (Utah) and utility players Maddie Hartley (Houston) and Kendra Lewis (Wisconsin). Everett’s SEC experience, proven ability to perform in high-stakes postseason games, and left-handed delivery give the Cowgirls a valuable new weapon.
Gajewski welcomed the addition, saying the program is “thrilled” to have her in Stillwater. Everett expressed similar excitement about finishing her career with the Cowgirls.
Delainey Everett’s Path from Oakdale, California to the SEC and Big 12
A native of Oakdale, California, Everett was a highly regarded high school prospect before signing with Mississippi State. She earned academic honors throughout her college career, including NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition in 2026 and SEC Honor Roll selections in previous seasons.
Her ability to step up in elimination games and deliver under pressure — most notably the shutout of Oklahoma — demonstrated the kind of competitiveness that translates well to a program with national championship aspirations like Oklahoma State.
What Delainey Everett Brings to the Cowgirls in Her Final Season
Everett’s combination of experience, efficiency, and big-game performance makes her a significant addition for Oklahoma State. She provides a proven arm who has already succeeded against top competition and thrived in the pressure of the NCAA Tournament.
For Mississippi State, her departure marks the end of a productive three-year stay that included a historic postseason run. For Oklahoma State, it represents a targeted portal move aimed at strengthening the pitching staff for another run at the Women’s College World Series.
Delainey Everett will take the circle in orange and black next spring with one year of eligibility remaining and a proven track record of rising to the moment. The Cowgirls have added a pitcher who knows how to deliver when it matters most.
